OTCF BRITCON RACE TEAM
Britcon Triathlon Race Team powered by Off That Couch Fitness is made up of local athletes to the Britcon Lincolnshire area and includes many accolades such as multiple Kona racers, top 10 overall Ironman Finishers, British Age Group Triathlon Champions, European Age Group Triathlon, Duathlon and Quadrathlon Champions, Ultra marathon winners and Extreme triathlon racers.
The Britcon Race Team became the main sponsor of the Off That Couch Fitness race team in 2016 and has supported local athletes in Lincolnshire ever since. With the support of Britcon the team has grown year on year with both Steve’s and Jordan remaining from the original line up and in 2017 the team expanded to Include Nick. In 2018 the team expanded again adding Jack Skelton, followed by Shawnie Lovatt and our newest team member Sophie Hedges joined in 2022.

Steve Grocock ‘Spartacus’
How long have you been involved with sports?
I’ve always enjoyed sports from a young age including county swimming, school & pub football teams, judo & boxing clubs. Unfortunately I never got on with cross country something I’ve since come to regret.
How long have you been on the race Britcon team?
I’ve been on the team from its inception I think, at least 4 years, I've been truly grateful ever since.
What’s your favourite discipline and why?
Cycling has to be my favourite. It’s amazing how many miles of countryside you can discover all under your own steam for zero cost....
JORDAN SKELLY
Name and nickname?
Jordan Skelly
How long have you been involved with sports?
Swimming since an early age. With a huge variety between there and my eventual find of triathlon.
How long have you been on the race Britcon team?
Goodness...I'll actually have to look this up. 2015 initially whilst it was the Offthatcouchfitness Raceteam, before our current sponsor and representation under Britcon.
What’s your favourite discipline and why?
Tricky, very tricky actually....
NICK MARTIN

Nick Martin
How long have you been involved with sports?
I was never interested in sports at a young age until I was about 11 years old where I got involved in surf life saving in Australia. This opened my eyes to the world of sport. I soon became very dedicated to training twice a day. When I returned to England in 2013 I carried on swimming and running and started to cycle more. I soon found myself competing in triathlons.

Been involved in sport since junior school

First year in 2019
What’s your favourite discipline and why?
Cycling because am rubbish at the other two!! I like to get out exploring new routes/ roads and cannot beat a good café stop on a long ride....
SHAWNIE LOVATT

Shawnie
How long have you been involved with the sport?
Triathlon for around 1 and a half years. But I’ve been involved with other sports for about 8 years, not competitively just to keep fit.
How long have you been on the race Britcon team?
Since October 2019
What’s your favourite discipline and why?
The bike. Probably my strongest discipline now and I always feel like a women on a mission when I get on my bike 🤣 we all have a need for speed!! The bike is also a different kind of pain...
